”Zille” was born in May 1997, sired by DCH California Boy von der Oelmühle out of Ulvsholms Summer Sunset.
She was 7th generation of Ulvsholm breeding on her maternal side, and her dam delivered consistent quality including Zille’s litter brother, DKCH SECH Ulvsholms Zorba Dane and 3 additional champions by other sires.
I kept Zille and her litter brother and they were a headstrong couple of rascals having happy days growing up together. Both became very succesful in the show ring and finished their championships soon after 2 years of age.
When I moved to a smaller property in 1999 I had to reduce my breeding stock, and in the spring of 2000 at 3 years of age, Zille went to Tore Grønhaug at Grunningen Kennels in Norway – just in time to enter the EIWC Show in Lillehammer that summer.
Though Zille had 2 litters in Norway, only one of her offspring was bred from. However, through her daughter, NCH Dvina av Grunningen (sired by NCH Chess Art F’edvard), Zille has several current descendants in Scandinavia.
Unfortunately I have lost contact with Zille’s Norwegian owner, who to my knowledge has moved and no longer keeps Wolfhounds, and I have very little information about her life as a mature bitch. I do remember being told that she enjoyed a long and happy life in Norway and I believe she became a veteran.
